RENCI provides a number of resources used by staff members and collaborators for research and discovery and collaboration. Resources range from the fastest supercomputers in North Carolina to high resolution display walls to to the fabrication tools used in the Innovations Lab. Throughout 2008, new resources will come online at RENCI engagement centers in the Triangle and at East Carolina University and UNC Asheville. Parallel lambdas running at 10 Gigabits per second (Gb/s),  and eventually 100 Gb/s, link RENCI sites in the Triangle at UNC, Duke, NC State and Europa Center in Chapel Hill and allow project teams to share data and collaborate remotely. A dark fiber facility is planned, which will enable unlimited networking capacity and provide opportunities to pursue novel approaches and solutions to new and future networking challenges.
