VSCSE Summer Courses

Overview
The Virtual School of Computational Science and Engineering (VSCSE) offers graduate students, faculty and industry professionals in science and engineering a unique opportunity to learn how to use cutting-edge computational resources to advance their research. Through an innovative nationwide virtual classroom hosted by the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, VSCSE’s summer programs give participants the skills to apply high-performance computing systems to work in many fields.

In 2010, RENCI became the only VSCSE site in North Carolina, offering free registration for up to 40 participants in each of two classes: “Petascale Programming Environments and Tools,” and “Proven Algorithmic Techniques for Many-core Processors.” The RENCI classroom allows students to fully interact with other sites and with instructors in high definition, participate in hands-on lab activities and access high performance computing resources.
