PCF HDF Component Software Distribution

The HDF5 Library was developed and is supported by the HDF group at NCSA at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.   Binary versions of these libraries with Pablo instrumentation for PCF support is available here for selected platforms.

Package Contents

The instrumented HDF 5 library provides a fully functional HDF library with instrumentation added.  The instrumentation will monitor calls to UNIX I/O operations, to other HDF procedures and to MPI-I/O routines called from within the HDF library.  

System Requirements

• Pablo SDDF library
• pthreads library
• MPI library (for parallel HDF 5 versions)
• MPI I/O library (for tracing MPI-I/O calls with parallel HDF 5 versions, optional)
•  Autopilot library (if Autopilot monitoring is to be used)
• Globus (if Autopilot monitoring is to be used)

• Sun SunOS 5.7 Generic with Sun's CC: WorkShop Compilers 5.0 99/12/04
• SGI IRIX 6.5.7 with MIPSpro Compilers: Version 7.30 -64 -O options
• Linux with mpicc compiler

The binary distributions are gzipped tar files, with different files for different architectures.  All of these files will be extracted under the directory "./hdf5_v1.4".   Documentation on how to use HDF 5 should be obtained from the HDF website.
