- I
was born in Kolkata, a city in the eastern part of India. I went to the
South Point High School till 3rd standard.
After a short stint at the St. Joseph's High school in Siliguri, my
parents decided that it was time for me to go to a boarding school to
avoid further school disruption. So I
went to Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapith at Purulia, where I did my
schooling till my 10th standard. I went to Narendrapur
Ramakrishna
Mission near Kolkata for my high school. I spent the best times of my
childhood at Purulia and Narendrapur and made some of my closest friends
during that time. After high school, I went to study at the Indian
Institute of Technology at Mumbai for a degree in Computer Science and
Engineering. After graduation from IIT, I went for graduate
school at
Rice University in Houston where I obtained a PhD in Computer
Science. Thereafter, I moved to North Carolina and started working as a research scientist at Renaissance Computing Institute at UNC Chapel Hill. I have the best parents one can have. My dad used to work for State
Bank of India. My mom is the sweetest mother. I am also very close to
my uncle. I am now married to Geeti who is an optometrist by profession.
